Blue enamel crucifix cross with flared edges. This beautifully detailed cross is handmade in Italy and would make a lovely necklace or rosary. Blue: symbolizes hope, heavenly love, and the eternal changelessness of God. It is also used to represent the Virgin Mary and is the traditional liturgical color used for the Marian feasts during the year. Azure blue pigment was always the most expensive and thus the only paint color considered worthy to use for the sky in images of the Virgin.
